ISLAMABAD, March 12  The Senators on Monday elected Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari and Sabir Baloch as Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Upper House of the Parliament respectively.Both the leaders were elected unopposed as no other candidates had filed nomination papers to contest the top Senate slots..After the announcement of their election, Presiding Officer Senator Afrasiab Khattak  administered oath to the newly-elected Chairman Nayyer Hussain Bokhari who then took the seat and administered oath to Deputy Chairman Sabir Baloch.Bokhari, who had been a PPP MNA and then a Senator, also served the Upper House as Leader of the House. Hailing from the Federal Capital, he is a lawyer by profession. He was elected to the National Assembly in 2002 general election from one of the two seats from the Capital.
