Islamabad March 27, 2012: The Finance Committee of the National Assembly met under the chairpersonship of Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Speaker National Assembly in Parliament House, today.

The committee approved the proposed budget of the National Assembly Secretariat for the fiscal year 2012-2013 amounting to Rs.2,073,556,000/-. The Committee was informed that there was no variation between the revised estimates and sanctioned budget for the year 2011-2012.

The committee appreciated the prudent leadership of Madam Speaker for initiating austerity measures and maintaining financial discipline in the expenditures of the National Assembly Secretariat.

The Committee also approved the continuation of 113 temporary posts in different cadres for the financial year 2012-2013. The said posts were required to be continued for the smooth functioning of the National Assembly Secretariat.

The meeting was attended by MNAs Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Ms. Fauzia Wahab, Ms. Nafisa Shah, Mrs. Yasmeen Rahman, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Ch. Saud Majeed, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Mr. Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, Mr. Istiqbal Khan, Secretary National Assembly, Additional Secretary M/o Finance and other senior officers of the National Assembly Secretariat.
