Islamabad; March 20, 2012: A meeting of heads of allied parties was held in the Presidency today with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in chair.



The meeting was attended by Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Mr. Asfandyar Wali Khan, Senator Afrasiab Khattak, Dr. Farooq Sattar, Mr. Haider Abbas Rizvi, Senator Mir Israrullah Zehri, Mr. Munir Khan Orakzai, Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar, Engr Shaukat Ullah, Mr. Khuda Bux Rajar , Syed Khursheed Shah, and Syed Muzzafar Hussain Shah.



Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Finance Minister Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Secretary General Mr. M. Salman Faruqui, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, DG ISI Lieutenant-General Zaheerul Islam, Foreign Secretary Mr. Jalil Abbas Jilani and Defence Secretary Ms. Nargis Sethi were also present during the meeting.



Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the meeting was in continuation of the earlier meetings held on 14th and 17th of March and discussed security and foreign policy related issues.



The President and the Prime Minister also had a meeting with the coalition partners.

The meeting discussed issues relating to the report of Parliamentary Committee on National Security that was presented in the joint session of the Parliament today.
