40th session of NA today Newly elected MNAs to take oath

Islamabad: The 40th session of the National Assembly will starts today (Wednesday). The newly elected members in recent by-elections will take oath as Members of the National Assembly.
Opposition would come hard on government for its policies tantamount to price hike, hiked tariffs of utilities as well as increased ratios of inflation, unemployment and decreased volume of exports.
A lot of hue and cry from opposition is also expected for pressing the government to bring adjournment motions submitted on increased prices of petroleum prices, missing people and on other issues under discussion.
However, the House may experience an environment of jubilations in the backlash of recent victory of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party in Senate elections. According to parliamentary observers, activist of PPP would gather in visitors’ galleries to chant slogans in favour of their leadership.
Initially, sources disclosed government intended to continue the session only for two days to fill be gap of required working days of the House as per decided in the parliamentary calendar.
However, sources said that time span of the House would to be enhanced for joint parliamentary session likely to be convened on March 17.
Sources revealed that the Lower Houser of the Parliament would have short agenda before it which would comprise on presentation of Transfer for Railways Bill and two reports namely second report on implementation on National Finance Commission Award and report on Pakistan Academy of Letters bill.
Almost two calling attention notices submitted by PPP MNA Yasmeen Rehman on non-permission to women voters in recent by-elections as well as Pervaiz Malik and other MNAs from opposition on procurement of aircrafts by National Flag Carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
