Newly elected Senators to sworn in today

ISLAMABAD, March 11 : Fist session of the Senate will held today (Monday) in which the newly elected Senators will take oath.

During the session 54 newly elected senators including Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Ishaq Dar, Farhatullah Babar, Babar Awan, Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Shahi Syed and Mustafa Kamal are some of the newly elected senators who will take oath; meanwhile Senator Afrasayab Khattak will take oath from the senators.

Secretary Senate will announce the name of Presiding Officer and would read the presidential order regarding the appointment of Afrasayab Khattak as Presiding Officer.

The Senate session would be held at 10:00 AM and would be chaired by Presiding Officer today (Monday). New elected members will elect the chairman and deputy chairmen of Senate. The election process will be completed under the supervision of the Senate secretariat officials.

Presiding Officer will take oath from newly elected chairman Senate and Chairman Senate will take oath from Deputy Chairman. Senator Nayyar Hussain Bukhari as chairman and Senator Sabar Ali Baloch as deputy chairman will easily be elected.

According to “SANA” new chairman and deputy chairmen would be elected unopposed , PML (N) the biggest opposition party has decided not to filed its candidates in view of good relations in future. Senator Nayyar Bukhari as Chairman and Sabar Ali Baloch optimistically will be elected unoposed.  After the nomination of opposition leader in Senate and in view of forming next government after the next general election the PML-N is looking for friendly relations with chairman and deputy chairman Senate.
According to the sources the PML-N has decided not to field the candidates on the posts of senate chairman and deputy chairman but the final decision would be taken by the PML-N leadership today (Monday); meanwhile the process of consultations is in progress.

During the last session of Senate Senator Ishaq Dar had lauded the services of Nayyar Bukhari in parliamentary committee on judges appointment and after receiving the information of Nayyar Bukhari as chairman Senate had congratulated him on telephone. It is also worth mentioning here that all the newly elected Senators have reached in Islamabad.
