Islamabad; June 13, 2012: Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Speaker, National Assembly chaired a meeting of the Special Committee to oversee the Speaker’s Relief Fund in Parliament House, today to discuss the utilization of available finances in the Fund.
After discussion and taking into account the suggestions of the Members of the Special Committee, it was decided that the available money would be utilized for establishing a Medical Center in the worst effected area of District Badin. The Members of the Committee were of the view that people of District Badin were worst effected by floods in previous years due to the geographical location of the District, therefore, they deserves a permanent healthcare facility. It was also decided that the provincial government would be asked to provide land for establishment of a state-of-art Medical Center. The Members of the Committee were tasked to monitor the whole process.
The meeting was attended by MNAs Mrs. Jamila Gillani, Mr. Abdul Rasheed Godil and Mr. Noor Alam Khan.
