David Cameron congratulates the Prime Minister



                                                               Islamabad the 26th June 2012

British Prime Minister David Cameron telephoned Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf today in the evening and congratulated him on the assumption of the office of premiership of Pakistan.

The British Prime Minister invited the Prime Minister of Pakistan to visit UK at a date convenient to him.

Prime Minister Raja Pervaz Ashraf thanked his British counterpart for the invitation adding that he would visit the UK at a date finalized mutually by the Foreign Offices of the two countries.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan during the telephonic conversation thanked the British Premier for his sentiments and good wishes and said that bi-lateral relations of two countries were deep rooted and would continue to strengthen in the future for the benefit of the people of the both countries.

  The Prime Minister particularly mentioned the statement of UK Prime Minister in May this year during former Prime Minister’s visit on the fourm of Conservative Friends of Pakistan, London, in which he said that Pakistan’s friends are UK's friends and Pakistan’s enemies are UK’s enemies. The People of Pakistan lauded the valuable support of the UK Prime Minister from the core of their heart, the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister said that regular interaction was the hallmark of their relations and there was need to maintain the momentum.
The Prime Minister welcomed the visit of Sir Kim and his delegation for the third round of National Security Dialogue in Islamabad.
