President Asif Ali Zardari today, in his capacity as the Chancellor of NFC Institute of Engineering & Technology Multan, has approved the appointment of Dr. Akhtar Malik, as Vice Chancellor of the institution.
The Summary in this regard said that the “NFC Institute of Engineering & Technology, Multan, Act 2012” was passed by Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) and the degree awarding institution with status of University is expected to start functioning soon. In order to appoint the Vice-Chancellor—the most important and the initial step—a three member committee was constituted by the Pro-Chancellor which proposed and recommended to the Prime Minister, for his approval, a panel that included the name of Dr. Akhtar Malik.
The Prime Minister, in turn, advised the President to approve the appointment of Dr. Akhter Malik as Vice Chancellor NFC Institute of Engineering & Technology Multan.
Dr. Akhter Malik did his PhD in 1992 in Materials Engineering, University of Maryland, USA and has put in about 28 years of professional service. With a vast experience in teaching and research in various institutions, Dr. Malik has to his credit innumerable publications of international repute.
Besides teaching and research, Dr. Akhter Malik has served at various administrative positions.
