Communist Party of China Publicity Department opens doors

Beijing; June 4, 2012

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Masood Khan visited an exhibition of the press archives of the Communist Party of China (CPC) arranged by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee in Beijing here the other day.

This was the first time, the CPC’s highest-ranking publicity officials opened the doors of their offices, offering an opportunity for foreign diplomats to get a glimpse of the low-profile Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Ambassadors from 51 countries and ministers from 49 countries as well as a Delegation of the European Union to China were present on the occasion.

In his welcome address Luo Shugang, Vice-Minister of the department welcomed the guests. He said: "The reasons we invited you to come here today are to provide a platform for you, through visit and discussions, to know more about the department and to enable more friends from the international community to know about it through (your introduction)."

At the end of the general briefing, Ming Lizhi, Bureau Director informed the visitors about the bureau's tasks and achievements.

Communist Party of China's past and current publications and its publicity instruments in the age of multimedia were displayed at three exhibition rooms.
