NA SPEAKER AND DEPUTY SPEAKER CONDEMN ATTACK ON BUSINESS RECORDER HOUSE




Islamabad; June 26, 2012: Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Speaker, National Assembly has strongly condemned the firing incident at Business Recorder House in Karachi and asked the government to ensure maximum security to the Media.

            In her message to the management of Business Recorder and AAJ TV, she said that such incidents are intolerable and the culprits should be apprehended and brought to the justice. She said that particular incident was a cowardice act to suppress the Media. She said that she has asked the government to provide maximum security to the media so that they could pursue the noble cause independently. Praising the management of Business Recorder and AAJ TV, Dr. Fehmida Mirza said that both the media organizations had always upheld the Journalistic norms and maintained its neutrality.

            Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker, National Assembly also condemned the attack on Business Recorder House. In his message, he said that it was a shameful attempt to subdue the independence of media in the country. He urged the government to provide the maximum security to the media.
