Emergent meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan , issues Notification of disqualification of Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani ========================== Islamabad, the 19th June, 2012:- An emergent meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan was held today on 19-06-2012 under the Chairmanship of the Hon’able Acting Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan Mr. Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, which was attended by the Hon’ble Members Election Commission, namely, Justice (R) Riaz Kiyani, Justice (R) Shahzad Akbar Khan and Justice (R) Fazal-ur-Rehman. Member Election Commission Justice (R) Muhammad Roshan Essani is at his hometown being already on leave. Acting Secretary was also present in the meeting.

2-         After recitation from the Holy Quran, the Commission considered the order dated 19-06-2012 passed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Constitution petition No. 40-2012(Muhmmad Azhar Siddiqui vs Federation of Pakistan, etc.) and other connected matters at length and has taken the decisions of issuing following notification of disqualification of Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani from being elected or chosen as a member of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament):

No.F.8(14)/2012-Cord.- Consequent upon disqualification of Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani from being a Member of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of Pakistan, vide Order dated 19th June, 2012 passed in Constitution Petition No. 40/2012 (Muhammad Azhar Siddique Vs Federation of Pakistan etc.) and other connected matters in terms of Article 63(1)(g) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on and from the date and time of pronouncement of the judgment of the Supreme Court dated 26.04.2012, the Election Commission of Pakistan hereby issues Notification of disqualification of Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani as Member National Assembly of Pakistan with effect from 26.04.2012 and in consequence thereof the Notification No.F.2(4)/2008-Cord. dated the 1st March, 2008 to the extent of declaring him as returned candidate from National Assembly Constituency No. NA-151 Multan-IV stands rescinded with effect from 26.04.2012.
