PRESS
RELEASE
Islamabad
April 05, 2012): Professor Khurshid Ahmad, Naib Amir,
Jamaat e Islami Pakistan,
presently in the UK,
has released the following:
“I strongly condemn the announcement of the US
Government, supposed to be made with the sanction of the US Congress, putting
head-money of 10 Million Dollars on Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, a respectable citizen
of Pakistan.
This is a flagrant violation of Pakistan
sovereignty and open invitation to violence because head money is always for
live arrest or killing a person and getting the reward on his head.
According to Prof. Khurshid this is also an act
of State terrorism. God forbid if anything happened to Hafiz Muhammad Saeed the
President and the Secretary of State of America would directly be responsible
for that. “It is the responsibility of the Government of Pakistan to strongly
condemn this act of aggression against Pakistan and its citizen, who is
not only a free person but actively involved in social and national activities.
He is not an unknown or a missing person”, Prof. Khurshid stressed.
“The US action is against the International Law,
against the UN Charter of Human Rights and against the Constitution of the
Islamic Republic of Pakistan who makes it obligatory on the Pakistani State and
Government of Pakistan to protect the life and the human rights of every
citizen, without discrimination”, he emphasised.
Prof. Khurshid has further stressed that the
Parliamentary Committee on National Security and the Parliament, who are
currently considering the Pak-US Relations, must take note of this latest Drone
attack on Pakistan
and demand immediate withdrawal of this aggressive and violence-promoting
declaration, failing which relations with US should be suspended.
“Unless, the Pakistani nation is prepared to
protect its own sovereignty, independence and honour there would be no end to
such US
onslaughts”, he concluded.
