Author of Built Heritage calls on PM

Islamabad:  April 12, 2012

Mrs Fauzia H. Qureshi, Author of Built Heritage of Multan, called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at PM’s House today and apprised on the conservation and restoration project of the Built Heritage of Multan.

The project includes 53 monuments of which survey and documentation has been completed and PC-I submitted to the Government with estimated cost of Rs 50 crore.

Mrs Fauzia Qureshi said that Prahaladapuri Temple, Jane Mander Temple and Gopal Mander were also included in the Heritage Multan project.

Mrs Fauzia Qureshi said all the heritage monuments have been put on web page and are currently available internationally on net.

The Prime Minister said that Multan was a 5000 years living city and the conservation of the monuments would restore its grandeur to a great deal.

The Prime Minister appreciated the work of Mrs Fauzia Qureshi which was not possible without the passion and commitment as it involved intensive concentration and knowledge on the subject.  The Author of Built Heritage Multan represents all these traits to a great extent, the Prime Minister said.
