Standing Committee on State and Frontier Region recommended that FATA Secretariat should be given priority in allocation of foreign funds received against war on terror=/ Committee was apprised .2 billion was allocated for the reconstruction of houses which were demolished in war against terror.

 Islamabad; April 20, 2012: A meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on State and Frontier Region (SAFRON) was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Sajid Hussain Turi, MNA. It was attended by Malik Mehrunnisa Afridi Advocate, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Khattak, Mr. Noor Alam Khan, Mr. Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Mr. Pervaiz Khan Advocate, Mr. Jawad Hussain, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch, Mr. Abdul Maalik Wazir, Dr. Imtiaz Sultan Bukhari, Mr. Munir Khan Orakzai and Mr. Zafar Beg Bhittani, MNAs. Minister for State & Frontier Region, Secretary, Ministry of SAFRON, Additional Chief Secretary, FATA, Secretaries (Admin & Coord), (Law & Order), (Finance), FATA Secretariat, DFA, SAFRON and other officers from FATA Secretariat attended the meeting.

2.         The Committee was briefed on the SNEs present status. It was informed that only 1000 posts have been sanctioned from the Finance Division where as request for more than 2000 posts are still lying for approval. The distribution of allocation of sanctioned posts was also intimated. The Committee stressed that Finance Division be followed for early sanctioning of the remaining posts. The Committee recommended that FATA Secretariat should be given priority in allocation of foreign funds received against war on terror. The Committee was apprised that cash grant of Rs.2 billion was allocated for the reconstruction of houses which were demolished in war against terror.

3.         It was intimated that 50% schools of the area are without the facilities of drinking water and toilets. The Members showed their commitment and concern for the improvement of Health and Education Sector. The role of Community Schools and their teachers were also discussed. The Committee recommended that no teacher should be removed from service and steps should be initiated for regularization of their services.

4.         The criteria and procedure of recruitment of persons in Levy was also intimated. The Committee supported and recommended for early sanctioning of another 2500 posts from Finance Division. The Committee appreciated the sports activities made in FATA and recommended that steps should be initiated for providing sports facilities to females of the area also. Further more funds may be allocated for sports activities.
