Prime Minister expresses dissatisfaction on performance of CDA




Islamabad, July 20, 2012

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of Capital Development Authority (CDA) in the provision of civic amenities to the inhabitants of Islamabad. He directed the Chairman CDA to take immediate measures for improved service delivery in the Capital and make a comprehensive uplift plan for the city to submit through Cabinet Division within two days.

The Prime Minister was chairing a meeting attended by Secretary Cabinet, Chairman CDA and other senior Government officials.

The Prime Minister directed the Chairman CDA to take steps on urgent basis for provision of clean drinking water, garbage collection, repair of footpaths, streets lights and other facilities to the inhabitants of Islamabad.

The Prime Minister further directed the Chairman to provide uniform facilities in all sectors of Islamabad without any discrimination between posh and other areas.

The Prime Minister also directed the Secretary Cabinet to personally supervise all affairs of CDA and keep him informed on regular basis. He made it clear that he wanted to see improvements within weeks, not months.

The Prime Minister asked the Cabinet Secretary to coordinate the affairs of Kacchi Abbadis in Islamabad and make a immediate plan for its development.

Earlier the Prime Minister was briefed by the Chairman CDA regarding different projects initiated by the civic body in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister directed to complete all development projects in the Capital within the prescribed timeframe. He asked the Secretary Cabinet to supervise the development projects initiated in Islamabad so that they can be completed within the dateline.
