COMMISSION FOR CREATION OF NEW PROVINCES IN THE PUNJAB MEETS TO ELECT ITS CHAIRMAN.
Islamabad; August 28, 2012: Senator Farhatullah Babar was elected chairman of the Commission for creation of new Provinces in the Punjab unanimously in meeting the meeting of the Commission which was held in Parliament House today.
The name of Senator Farhatullah Babar for the Chairmanship was proposed by Mr. Jamshaid Ahmed Dasti, MNA and seconded by other members. Secretary, National Assembly conducted the election of the chairman.
Senator Farhatullah Babar thanked his fellow parliamentarians for reposing confidence in him by electing him as Chairman of the Commission. He assured the members of the Commission that he would make all efforts to come up to their expectations and make proceedings of the Commission purposeful and result oriented with their support. Other members of the committee individually congratulated him on becoming the Chairman of the Commission and assured their all out support. The Commission will meet again on tomorrow i.e. 29.8.2012 to finalize its Rules.
On the behalf of Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Speaker and Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker, National Assembly the Secretary congratulated the newly elected Chairman of Commission and assured of all out support of National Assembly Secretariat for smooth functioning of the Commission.
The members who attended the meeting of the Commission were Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Minister for Religious Affairs and Chief Whip, Senators, Syeda Sughra Imam, Haji Mohammad Adeel, Mr. Kamil Ali Agha, and Molana Abul Ghafoor Haideri, MNAs Mr. Arif Aziz Shiekh, Mr. Jamshaid Ahmed Dasti, Syed Ali Musa Gillani and Dr. Muhammad Farooq Sattar.
