Chairman Senate of Pakistan meets with the Iranian Foreign Minister, emphasizes more trade, economic contacts

In a message received from Tehran, Chairman Senate of Pakistan Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari held a meeting with the Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi here today and discussed matters related to economic and trade relations.

Emphasizing the significance of economic relations between the two countries, the Senate Chairman said Pakistan can offer many items to Iran including wheat and textile. He said the potential of both the countries should be fully exploited to the benefit of people of Iran and Pakistan.

Referring to the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project, he said that Iran’s gas can help Pakistan in overcoming the energy crisis in Pakistan.

Describing Pakistan and Iran as two major countries in the region, Mr. Bukhari said cooperation between the two countries can establish peace and stability in the region.

Highlighting the significance of Parliamentary cooperation between Iran and Pakistan, he said, these should be more exchange of parliamentary delegations.

The Iranian Foreign Minister referred to cultural and religious commonalities between both the countries adding that there is no limit to the expansion of economic relations between Iran and Pakistan.

 He said Pakistan and Iran enjoy the best of political relations at this time as both the Presidents of Iran and Pakistan have full understanding on major  international and regional issues.

The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed the hope that the visit of the Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari would help further reinforcing Pakistan Iran relation in all fields.
