Prime Minister Justice (R) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso has expressed concern over the incident of fire at the office of Independent News Agency (INP) Islamabad.
The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Interior to conduct an inquiry into the incident and submit a report within 48 hours.

Islamabad April 26, 2013 PMLN President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in a group photo with the ambassadors of Gulf countries/ reception hosted by the ambassador of KSA in Islamabad.
Mr. Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, the President of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) has called for further strengthening of the existing good ties between Pakistan and the Arab countries.
The former Prime Minister made this remark during his meeting with Arab Ambassadors based in Islamabad, at a function arranged by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the residence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Friday 26 April 2013.
During the course of their warm and cordial meeting, Mr. Mohammad Nawaz Sharif highlighted the salient features of the Party’s Manifesto for the forthcoming general elections. He pointed out that this would be the first peaceful change of government in the country, in accordance with provisions of the Constitution and was therefore, a most important event in the continuing efforts to strengthen the democratic institutions.
The former Prime Minister spoke of the enormous challenges confronting the country, which ranged from galloping inflation, rising unemployment, depleting energy resources and an alarming deterioration in the law and order situation. These enormous problems called for a strong and stable government, committed to good governance and the rule of law, with a team of experienced and competent people, to ensure the implementation of well-thought out plans and programs, tailored to the nation’s requirement.
Mr. Nawaz Sharif assured the Arab Ambassadors that he and his Party accorded the highest priority to reinforcing further the existing excellent relations with our Arab brothers, while urging them to enhance their participation in Pakistan’s economic growth and development. This would not only strengthen the existing bonds of friendship but also create better understanding amongst the peoples.
The Ambassador of Bahrain thanked the PML(N) President for sparing time, notwithstanding his many election related commitments, to meet with the Arab Ambassadors and to brief them on the important elements of the Party’s Manifesto, including his programs and plans to resolve the complex problems confronting the country. He added that the Arab countries attached great importance to relations with Pakistan, which they viewed as a sincere, tested friend.
Mr. Nawaz Sharif was accompanied by Senator Ishaq Dar, the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate and Ambassador (r) Tariq Fatemi.

LAUNCH “Prime Minister’s tuition fee payment scheme

Prime Minister Justice (R) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso has approved the launch of a scheme for payment of tuition fee to students hailing from Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and FATA which envisage free education to those who intend doing Masters, M.Phil and PhD.
The Scheme called “Prime Minister’s tuition fee payment scheme” for Masters, M.Phill and PhD was approved and launched at a high level meeting attended by Dr. Sania Nishtar, Federal Minister for Professional and Technical Education, Science and Technology and IT, officials of PM’s Secretariat and Ministry of professional and technical education.
Dr. Sania Nishar briefed the Prime Minister on the salient features of the scheme. The Prime Minister was informed that it was approved by the Federal Cabinet in June 2012 and a sum of Rs. 500 billion was allocated for the purpose in the budget. The scheme envisages that students from Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA will be provided tuition fee by the Federal Government so that they can undertake higher education.
The Minister said that though education is a devolved subject, the Federal Government would provide equity to students so that efforts can be stepped to improve the education standards.
This scheme, she said is a pre-paid scheme where the entire expenditure during Masters, M.phill and PhD degree will be borne by the Federal Government for students residing in these areas. The scheme further envisages that federal government will bear all educational expenditure of an estimated 10825 students from these areas of which 9128 students belong to Balochistan.
The Prime Minister directed that gender parity must be maintained and the scheme should be available for the next five years.
The Prime Minister approved that in case of PhD students of Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and FATA would be eligible for benefit from the scheme even if they get admission in Universities and Colleges outside their cities / regions. He has also approved that students hailing from Federally Administered Tribal Areas would benefit from the scheme if they are admitted in Universities and Colleges in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa.
The Prime Minister said that his government is prepared to commit more resources to education and prioritize it as it considers it critical to human resource development and future of the nation.

Chief of Army Staff called on the Chief Election Commissioner \ discuss security arrangements pertaining to the General Elections-2103
Islamabad, the 5th April 2103.- Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani called on the Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Justice (R) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim this evening at Islamabad to discuss security arrangements pertaining to the General Elections-2103. Secretary Defence and Secretary ECP were also present at the occasion.
Chief of Army Staff assured the Chief Election Commissioner that Army fully support the efforts being made by the Election Commission to hold free, fair and credible elections in the country and that all possible assistance will be extended to create an environment conducive to achieve this laudable objective.
The Chief Election Commissioner thanked the Chief of Army Staff and said that at this critical juncture of our history all the state organizations are expected to play their respective role to serve the supreme national interest by holding transparent and peaceful elections as enshrined in the Constitution and also upto the expectations of the people of Pakistan.
